Odyssey Adventure Racing is not only the Blue Ridge Marathon race management team,but also a unique race promotion organization that specializes in premier ultra-distance and extreme sporting events. Our mission is to create and produce competitive experiences that provide athletes with mental and physical challenges not found in more traditional sports. We strive to attract adventurous individuals who are eager to escape their ordinary routines through bold and daring endurance competitions.
Clean Valley Council
In addition to keeping the Blue Ridge Marathon a Virginia Green Event, The Clean Valley Council is a non-profit organization that has served the Roanoke Valley for more than 30 years. CVC provides educational programming and citizen participation events to spread the word about litter prevention, recycling, wastestream reduction, stormwater pollution prevention and protecting our natural resources. We are the go to resource for local recycling information. CVC provides educational resources and programming for the school systems, the public and the municipalities in the cities of Roanoke and Salem, the counties of Botetourt and Roanoke and the town of Vinton. We host and sponsor several valley-wide litter cleanup events and e-waste collections each year.
Since 1930, the Texas Tavern has held a spot in the history of Roanoke, VA as well as the hearts of everyone who has visited. Over 20 million bowls (and counting) have been served. In addition, we have several other menu items that have become synonymous with the culture of this Roanoke, Virginia landmark. For years we have been serving favorites such as the unique “Cheesy Western”. No trip to Roanoke is complete without a visit to the Texas Tavern.
Down by Downtown is a partner we can get behind. This multi-day music festival provides live music both Friday night (packet pickup) as well as at the finish line. In addition to music there is a climbing wall, food vendors, beer garden, and much more. Visit their website to see the music lineup.
Downtown Roanoke, Inc.
A tax-exempt member organization first chartered in 1960 to provide services and support to downtown property owners, businesses and residents. DRI provides services throughout the Downtown Service District under a contract with the City of Roanoke and also manages the Historic Roanoke City Market which is the oldest continuously-operating open air market in Virginia. DRI also presents a number of showcase events in downtown Roanoke including the Harvest Festival, and the SunTrust Dickens of a Christmas.
FloydFest is a four-day celebration of music and art nestled in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of southwest Virginia! Bridging the gap between genres, generations and cultures, the festival features over 100 performers on 10 stages! Second place overall male and female finisher of the Blue Ridge Marathon will receive a pair of four-day passes to the 2013 FloydFest (7/25-28).

The River and Rail, a southern Bistro, is located in the heart of Roanoke Virginia. Chef Aaron Deal changes the menu weekly based on the availability of seasonal products from our local providers. He and his team produce Southern and French classic dishes for this neighborhood restaurant, located just a block off the course at mile 16 . It’s really, really good food.
