Our Challenge to the Mount Lemmon Marathon

Our Challenge to the Mount Lemmon Marathon

We think ours is tougher! But we’re willing to let the runners decide.

The Mount Lemmon Marathon, in Tucson, AZ, claims to be the “Toughest Road Marathon in the World.” It features a formidable challenge, as it is entirely uphill with 6,000 feet of elevation gain- and is incredibly beautiful by the way. While uphill is difficult, we feel a run that features long, steep downhill sections is more taxing on your body. We think our ~7,200′ of elevation change is way tougher. But, we’re willing to let the runners decide!

Here’s our offer:

  • Free entries to the 2011 National College Blue Ridge Marathon to anyone who ran the 2010 Mount Lemmon Marathon. To claim your entry email us a photo of you and your Mount Lemmon finisher medal and proof of your results time.
  • We’re offering an all-expense paid trip (airfare, hotel, and race entry) to the top male and top female winner of the 2010 Mount Lemmon Marathon.
  • The top male and top female finisher of the 2011 National College Blue Ridge Marathon will have their choice of either a Tag Heuer watch (~$5000 value, courtesy of Fink’s Jewelers) or an all-expense paid trip to run the 2011 Mount Lemmon Marathon. The second place finishers will receive the prize not chosen by the top finisher.
  • Participants at our 2011 race can enter to win trip to run the 2011 Mount Lemmon Marathon as well. We’ll choose one winner for an all-expense paid trip to Tucson.

Tucson, AZ and Roanoke, VA are incredible cities putting on two amazing races. We hope that your 2011 racing calendar includes a visit to both.

Happy running!
