TED, a small nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Since then its scope has become ever broader.
TED recently published an endurance running talk by Born to Run author Christopher McDougall. The 15-minute lecture is loaded with really interesting facts on the history of running. Born to Run is an epic adventure that began with one simple question: Why does my foot hurt? In search of an answer, Christopher sets off to find a tribe of the world’s greatest distance runners and learn their secrets, and in the process shows us that everything we thought we knew about running is wrong.
This TED talk is worth listening to. When your finished watching it, you’ll want to register for the Blue Ridge Marathon – America’s Toughest Road Marathon!
